JURY DECISION ON AWARDED FILMS
55th BELGRADE DOCUMENTARY AND SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

Jury members of the  55th Belgrade Documentary and Short Film Festival in the assembly:

1. Juao Paolo Macedo, President of the Jury
2. Christl Grunwald Merz
3. Dana Budisavljević
4. Rastko Ćirić
5. Boris Mitić

held the Final session after careful consideration of all films in competition program and unanimously decided to award the following films:

1) Four Festival DIPLOMAS for an individual contribution to films in the National Competition go to:

2) THE GOLDEN MEDALS OF BELGRADE and prize in the amount of 1.000,00 euros for each film in the following categories of the National competition program go to:

- FOR THE BEST DOCUMENTARY FILM to director of
My Friend Serbia -Sonja Blagojević
Explication: Clowns are pure humour and laugh and the contrast with the difficult moments in Serbia and Kosovo.
 
- FOR THE BEST ANIMATED FILM - Jury decided not to give this award.

- FOR THE BEST SHORT FILM to director of
Chaslav`s List - Miša Zorović
Explication: Considering the average quality of films presented on the National Fiction Competition, the Jury considered a realistic fiction made by a young director and older actors about an important contemporary social issue and decided award.

- FOR THE BEST EXPERIMENTAL FILM to director of
Rain Kimono - Branimir Živković
Explication: One interesting approach to experimental cinema through a vivid art direction and editing.

- FOR THE DOMESTIC PRODUCTION FOR GROUP OF FILMS
KVADRAT
Explication: Independence as film school and production company by its support to many authors both, during and after school, its devotion and warmth.

3) THE GOLDEN MEDAL OF BELGRADE and prize in the amount of 1.000,00 euros for each film in the following categories of the International competition program go to:

- FOR THE BEST DOCUMENTARY FILM to director of
Low Level Flight - Jan Sikl, Czech Republic
Explication: Departing from family footage to well edited film that tells more than the story of a single couple.

- FOR THE BEST ANIMATED, SHORT OR EXPERIMENTAL FILM
ex aequo 
To director ofshort film The T-shirt - Hossein Martin Fazeli, Czech Republic
Explication: A simple story approached in a wise way.
And to director of short film Electrodomestica - Kleber Mendonça Filho, Brasil
Explication: Fresh storytelling style approaching one usual subject in fiction within a original range of situations.

4) THE GOLDEN PLAQUE BELGRADE for the best film of National Competition and the prize in the amount of 2.000,00 euros goes to:
The Swallow by Milan Belegišanin
            Explication: A true lesson of storytelling.

5) THE GOLDEN PLAQUE BELGRADE for the best film of International Competition and the prize in the amount of 2.000,00 euros goes to:
My Friends by Lidija Zelović Goekijan, The Netherlands
Explication: A story about Balkan wars that was difficult to tell or explain, but is told trough a intimate crossed experiences facing reality as it was, instead a nostalgia of what it could have been.
 
6) GRAND PRIX, Festival statuete and the prize in the amount of 3.000,00 euros for the best film in both competition programs goes to:
Fabulous fairies byMarko Jeftić, Serbia
Explication: A very well told story of a group of optimistic ladies that, beyond the personal difficulties, found a way of keeping their contribution to society and self esteem, through music and sharing their life experience. The cinematographic approach and style served the story as a contemporary fairy tale on present society and reality. It can also be a suggestion to stay alive.

7) Jury would hereby like to give a Special Mention to an outstanding film Spitted by Kiss by Miloš Tomić.
