Death of a Sea Year of Production: 2008. Synopsis: Documentary on one sea disappearance, on fishermen who lost their sea without their fault, about human destinies that are left in the middle of a desert to wait for the end of their small lives. The truth about one of the 20th century biggest ecological catastrophes.
About the Author: Born in 1979 in Paris. He graduated the film directing studies in Moscow. After Moscow he left for Los Angeles where he studied acting at the Lee Strazberg Theatre Institute and the Theatre of Arts. The idea for the film “Death of a Sea“ emerged during the time he was an assistant director to Ally Khamrayew in Uzbekistan who told him the story about the tragedy of people whose life was connected to the Aral Sea that has disappeared. Touched by the human drama of the people who lived by the Aral Sea, he took his camera and went there in order to make a film about the town of fishermen and sailors who were left without their sea.
